At age 4: Mom knows everything!

At age 8: Mom knows a lot! 

At age 12: Mom doesn’t really know everything. 

At age 14: Mom doesn’t know anything. 

At age 16:Mom doesn’t exist. 

At age 18: She’s old fashioned. 

At age 25: Maybe Mom does know about this! 

At age 35: Before we decide, let’s ask Mom. 

At age 45: I wonder… what Mom thinks about this?

I heard this awhile back.

While googling it I put in "Mom knows everything at age 25"

I was a little off...the "poem" says 35 but for me-25 is when I had my 2nd kid, and I think REALLY realized how much I still need MY mom!

Maybe because I got married younger than most girls (21), and had babies quicker too (23 and 25)...I realized that I don't make too many decisions about..anything really without asking my mom, and dad too! 

Mom do you think I should spank?

Mom should we paint our room blue, or grey?

Mom, when you were here last night, did you see where the remote was?

Mom can you watch Curren for me please? PLEASE?

Mom can you help me set up a budget?

Mom can you help me organize Finley's clothes?

Mom can you show me what plants to plant for this season?

Mom how do I get the chickens to stop eating their eggs?

Mom, how do I tell Ryan he is wrong? (haha)

Mom how did you and dad save so much money at such a young age?

MOM!?

These were all questions I asked my mom probably within the last week.

My mom and I had a hard time during the teen years, I am happy that time is behind us, and I wised up and am getting to know my mom as a woman, and as a grandma...and life coach/financial advisor/Gardner/....it goes on and on haha

My mom and I are VERY different in some areas, she is organized and everything is black and white, and planned...and I kind of fly by the seat of my pants, but I am getting more organized as my life is getting more busy!

Just yesterday I was trying to memorize directions to a park here in town...and she could hear me repeating them, while I was looking for my keys..and I could hear her voice in my head "Sarah put them in the same place, every time so you don't have to scurry around"... then she said, "Sarah L.A.R.S. LARS, just remember that"

LARS got it! Thanks mom! On my drive there I was thinking about how she would help me memorize my Bible Verses and vocabulary words, by making them to the tune of Jingle Bells, and different songs so I would remember them.

My mom and dad have always made me feel confident, smart, and very loved.  They always encouraged our gifts, and I never felt compared to my brother. He and I both have different strengths and they always made sure we tried our hardest, and that they were proud of us.  They always tell me how good of a mother I am, and just give us endless love.

If it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be able to be a stay at home mom! They give us a chunk off our rent so we can live in a  house with a yard..otherwise we would definitely be in an apartment, all cooped up. 

Just tonight..Ryan is gone all night, and Finley is sick and my parents took Curren to their house to spend the night so I wouldn't have to handle both kids throughout the night solo. They are seriously the best, and I appreciate them SO much.     I REALLY would be lost (in camarillo w/ out my LARS) without them!

I started this blog as something my kids can look back on, since I suck at scrap booking. So Curren & Fin, your "Nammie" is the bomb.com!

BANKY SPANKS

when Curren was about 8 months old, we started to try to get him to go to sleep w/ out nursing because I was going to be going back to work at night and Ryan was going to have to put him to bed & give him a bottle of my milk. I read that if you try to incorporate a blanket when the baby is nursing, it helps the transition when you are not there. So we did that and it worked really well.  There was a week or so of some bouncing and rocking..but it did the trick. "Banky" "Banky Spanks" or "Skanky Banky" as i call it..is a must have come bedtime.  It's only for sleep, he's not dragging it around sucking on it 24/7 like I have seen some kids do (GROSS).

 I love how babyish he looks here!

The blankey situation is getting a little strange lately. He's been talking to it, and when I put it in the washer he will tell it "It's ok Banky you just need a little bath"..and when we come home he will go grab it and hug it and tell it how much he's missed it! Is this weird? It seems weird to me!

Your BEST Shot

I used to be really into film photography, I used the lab at moorpark college for a few years- and spent hours in the dark making my film into photographs- It is so much harder than digital! They don't even compare, apples to oranges in my opinion. I am not good at digital editing, but it is something i'd like to learn more about. There is a photo challenge going on over at The Paper Mama Blog, a few blogs I follow entered their pics, so I thought why not.  I took these recently and had a hard time choosing, I know most people are going to do close ups of their kids, which are always great pictures.  So I was debating going with this one of Curren and Georgie- for something a little different than just a portrait..

or this beautiful picture of Finley that I love so much.  The one of Fin is a much better quality, which is what it's supposed to be about, so I am going to go with it, even though the one up there ^ will be more original! Which pic do you think is best? OPE never mind just switched it to the curren/georgia one!

Well I am going to keep this short, men..shield your eyes. Well if you know me you know I am big on the breast feeding.
Super Important.
All about it.
If you need help, ask for it, it's out there and well worth it.

I'm not here to rant about the jug juice, if you will- I am here cause I have an ISSUEEE.

So, breast feeding moms...does this happen to you? Cause apparently, according to Google, I am solo.

When I am ovulating my milk doesn't let down. WHAT?! Yes. I really just said that, re read it, absorb it, and please tell me it happens to you?

It happened to me with Curren when he was about 8 months, for the 2-3 days I was ovulating my milk would fill up but would not let down..OCCASIONALLY it would if I had enough beer, and visualized waterfalls...WHAT?! Yes, again, re read it, visualization helps your milk let down.

It is seriously frustrating when you have a kid clawing at you and can feel the milk all up in there and it won't come out!

Here we are again, it's been doing it now with Fin since she was 6 months and has only come down once in the past two days. I drink tons of H20, and the beer and visualization isn't helping. Suggestions? Cause I am ready to throw in the towel, which I really don't want to do cause my kids don't get sick when they nurse...pretty proud of my probiotics HOLLA!

Say WHAT?!

Kids say the craziest stuff, I love hearing about funny stuff toddlers pop out of their mouths. Maybe you do to? Over the past week I jotted down some sweet treats for you. He's really into saying "probably".. Enjoy a minute in the mind of Curren:

- "MOM  I want to give you a heart attack!"
(jumping from our desk to our bed...whenever he's doing dangerous things i tell him he's going to give me a heart attack)

-"Mom where are all my Alpacas?"
me: "you don't have any Alpacas bud"
"yes i do, they are probably in my cave with my Llama."'
me: "you're watching too much Diego"

- "my iPAD is home!" (when Ryan got home from work..kinda sad i know haha)

-"Mom, what are you doing?"
me: "cleaning up your toys, the carpet cleaner is coming"
"what's his name"
me: "i'm not sure, i haven't met him before"
"He's probably a rescue man, from the mountains"
me: "yes, most likely."

-BEDTIME SCENARIO-
-"Goodnight Mom, you're my favorite boy in the whole world, you're getting so big"
(what Ryan always says to him)
SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST, don't even worry..
-AT A BBQ- Ryan is sitting in a chair with a beer, chillin...and Curren says this, no joke & we have witnesses...

-Curren grabs a pillow puts it behind Ryan's back and says "Sit back and Relax Dad" and tips him back into the chair! We were dying, I have no idea where that came from.
